Za Vorskala - “The Glass thief”

Za Vorskala village limits sign :)  - "behind the river"

Za Vorskala means behind the river.  The main river in this area is the Vorskala, translated “Glass thief”.   According to local legend, when Peter the Great was sailing down the river in this area he took out his retractable telescope to look ahead for the enemy, when he did the glass in the end of it fell out into the river and was lost.  He called this river “the glass thief” and so it is today.  Well enough of the history lesson J.  Please pray for the people of Za Vorskala, the people behind or on the other side of the river.  That’s what the area is called where we started a five day camp for kids. Today was the first day and we had 52 kids so we were really blessed! There is no Church in this area and we are partnering with the some of the Ukrainian believers from the city of Poltava where we live to try to begin some Church planting efforts in this area.  Please pray especially for Roman and Ira, a Ukrainian couple who have moved out to this area and are strong believers.  Pray for the LORD to continue to use them in mighty ways in Za Vorskala. Please pray that they will continue to have favor with the local authorities, please pray for us and for the LORD’S hand to work strongly in us and guide us as we have camp every day this week.  GOD bless!  Thanks so much for your prayers!!!
Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.  1 Sam 12:24
