“House of Prayer”
“House of Prayer”
- Then He taught, saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be
called a house of prayer for all nations'?
Mark 11:17
It’s common in Ukrainian Villages for small Churches to be
called Houses of Prayer. I love this
thought and way of doing things. This is
the process; as people repent and turn to GOD in a village, they begin to meet together
to pray and study the Bible, to worship the LORD (usually in homes). As time goes on and they grow they are able
to acquire some building or maybe even build a meeting place of their own. They call them “Houses of Prayer”. Then as time goes on and the Church grows
stronger and through much, much prayer and seeking the LORD, the group of
believers of that local congregation name the Church, as the LORD leads
them. They don’t just call it so and so
Baptist or so and so whatever ect . . .
depending on the location of the Church (like naming it for the city or community),
they give it a special Biblical name that they have earnestly sought the LORD
about. This process sometimes takes even
years before they name a Church. I love
it, they do something that western believers will hardly ever do, wait on the
LORD. The LORD has taught me so much
this summer in Ukraine, as well as the other summers my family and I have been
blessed to be here. We count it such a privilege
and honor to be here again and we are doing our best to be good stewards of our
time and resources. We only have a couple of weeks left so please pray extra
hard for us, we have so many open doors and we want to do our best to be a strong
light for CHRIST and to also help as many people as we can to know and grow in
HIS GRACE.
The photos on today’s post are from the last week of
ministries in Poltava Oblast. GOD bless
and thanks so much for your prayers and support!!!
