Today the
Ukrainian Church we attend had Baptisms for eleven people who have been saved
by the LORD’S Grace and who have put all their trust in the finished work of
the LORD JESUS CHRIST on the Cross. It
was a wonderful day and a great spiritual encouragement for me to see these new
believers stand publically on the beach of the main river going through their hometown
of Poltava, Ukraine and unashamedly confess CHRIST’s death, burial, and resurrection
in front of a crowded beach and river full of non-believers. (they were Baptized in a crowded public
swimming area on the river Vorskala) For
some of them, following CHRIST will mean even giving up relationships with
family and friends, showing that their relationship with CHRIST is more to them
than anything or anyone on this earth.
The service was so beautiful and a great testimony of the LORD’S GRACE
to the people of Poltava. I am so
thankful to get to personally witness such GREAT works of the LORD. HE is Alive and working mightily, not
through dead traditions and meaningless lip service to God, but in the power
and Grace of HIS HOLY SPIRIT that changes those who are willing to repent and
call on HIM, a change from the inside out, a new creation, a new heart. Please pray for these eleven new believers as
they follow HIM and please pray for us and our service here in Ukraine. Slava Boga!
(Praise GOD)
And Jesus came and
spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and
on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them
to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age." Amen.
